Why Hire a Home Inspector? 2018-06-11T17:34:19-04:00

Very simply, a house is the single largest investment most individuals will ever make. Currently purchasers are coming to understand the wisdom of a thorough home inspection prior to committing to the purchase. Home inspections by a Registered and Certified Master Home Inspector have proven to be a positive and educational experience for prospective home buyers. Home inspectors have their education, experience and reports verified by a board of their peers prior to becoming a Registered Home Inpsector. The Ontario Association of Home Inspectors ( OAHI ) is the only organization that scrutinizes the home inspectors qualifications and experience. Certified Master Inspectors must have 1000 CEUs, continuing education credits, a combination of home inspections and education, fewer than 42 are licensed in Ontario.

Whether you are having a home inspection  Hamilton, Burlington home inspection, Waterdown home inspection, home inspection Dundas or Ancaster home inspection, the purpose of  a home inspection service is to determine the condition of a property at the time of the purchase in order to disclose the following:

  • serious deficiencies
  • replacement and repair requirements
  • age and life expectancy of major components
  • maintenance and safety information

When you’re buying a new home in Burlington or Hamilton, home inspection services from a qualified home inspector represent only a small fraction of what you will be investing in your house. The peace of mind that comes from moving into a new home confident that it’s in good shape or already knowing what potential problems may await you, is the result of a good buyer’s home inspection. If your home inspector uncovers major problems before your deal closes, then you will have saved yourself a lot of worry and expense, perhaps for years to come.

At the foundation of a good home inspection service, provided by a qualified home inspector, is an independent review of the property. Home inspectors don’t have a stake in the outcome of the inspection, as they won’t make a profit based on whether a real estate deal closes or not.

Perhaps one of the most important elements of a home inspection service is to identify potential safety hazards. This is important information for a property owner to know whether you are buying or selling a home,  or simply wanting to maintain your property.

In short, your Registered and Certified Master Home Inspector can be considered your best, most impartial friend – someone who you can count on to tell you the truth.

Bruce completed two of our inspections, before we moved into our home, we truly appreciated the thoroughness of his report and the details he covered, and the advice presented in the report! Would definitely recommend him to family and friends!!

We are very happy with our inspection report from Bruce. He was punctual, thorough and included lots of pictures with recommended timelines for repair. With details from his report we were able to have the sellers agree to repair a problem before closing. A problem we probably would've missed and had to pay thousands for down the line. I would recommend BLT to family and friends.

Bruce more than exceeded our expectations of a home inspector. He reflected a high level of knowledge in his field. He was punctual and had the time management skills and ability to meet our deadline on time. We would not hesitate to recommend BLT Home Inspections to any of our friends.

Bruce did a great job with our home inspection. I work in the home and property management business and I've seen many issues that arise in the home. I felt that Bruce was spot on with his identification of the status of items on the home inspection checklist. His report was very well written and packed with great, well explained images. I will use his report as my list of 'things to do' as soon as we take possession of the home.
